Catherine Levy, who created Dorette, was born in Paris where she has lived and worked ever since.

Catherine has always travelled extensively, especially to India. Dazzled by the profusion and the beauty of jewellery worn in the streets, she dreamed of models mixing Indian techniques and traditional forms from French provinces.

In fact the prototypes and some jewels are made in Paris, while the rest of the jewelry are handcrafted in India.

Dorette jewellery never weighs heavily on fingers, never scratches necks or pulls on ear, as was done in the Georgian jewelry era, the gemstones are backed in silver and the rest in 18k gold.  

Her creations are characterized by multi-colored gemstones, which, both modest and precious, diffuse a singular murmur and are always cheerful company. Each one is different, both ancient and modern.

Catherine believes that her line Dorette should be considered daily jewels: small, colorful, fun and simple jewels that are easy to live with.

Catherine ha sempre viaggiato molto, soprattutto in India, dove abbagliata dalla profusione e dalla bellezza dei gioielli indossati per le strade, sognava modelli che mescolassero tecniche indiane e forme tradizionali delle province francesi. Infatti i prototipi e alcuni gioielli sono realizzati a Parigi, mentre il resto dei gioielli è realizzato a mano in India.

I gioielli Dorette non pesano mai sulle dita, non graffiano mai il collo o tirano l’orecchio, come si faceva nell’era della gioielleria georgiana, le pietre preziose sono sostenute in argento ed il resto è in oro 18k.

Le sue creazioni sono caratterizzate da gemme multicolori, che, sia modeste che preziose, diffondono un singolare mormorio e fanno sempre allegra compagnia. Ognuna è diversa, sia antica che moderna.

Dorette è pensata per essere considerata una linea di gioielli quotidiani: piccoli, colorati, divertenti e semplici con cui è facile convivere.
